"Never underestimate the power of your girlfriends," says Mandy, a devoted mother and much loved member of our Sissa Sorella family. Her wisdom, nurtured by life's experiences, shines through in her approach to motherhood and work.

What is one valuable lesson you've learned from your mother or a mother figure in your life?
The best advice from my Mum who is now 94 years young was to always be kind and generous to everyone no matter the situation. It is not always what people expect and they often respond with kindness and generosity too. The world currently needs a lot more kindness.

What are some challenges you've faced as a working mother, and how have you overcome them?
Like all working Mothers, its trying to juggle all the balls in the air at the same time. Don't be afraid to ask for help when you need and try not to be too hard on yourself. Baked beans for dinner is ok. Outsource if you can! People mostly care about you and not how clean the house is.

How do you prioritise self-care and personal time while juggling multiple
responsibilities?
Early mornings are often a good time to have some personal time. Small amounts of time more often can work rather than an hour here and there. Putting it in the diary means you plan around it.

What are some of the biggest lessons you've learned through motherhood?
Life doesn't always go as planned as there is so much in life we cannot control. Your journey may change from the one you envisioned but with it brings new opportunities, different experiences and new friendships. The journey can be just as fulfilling but different.

What resources or communities have been helpful to you in your journey as a mother and professional?
Never underestimate the power of close girlfriends. They laugh and cry with you and share your ups and downs. My Mum always said a problem shared is a problem halved. My journey as a mother would not be complete without the never ending love and support of my husband. We make a great team and have always shared the load.
