What Kate & Annette Loved This Week

There are certain occupational hazards that come with working in a beautiful shoe shop, and apparently one of them is trying to get any actual work done when there are fabulous new shoes to try on.

If you've seen Annette in our videos before, you'll know she doesn't need much encouragement when it comes to shopping at Sissa Sorella. And to be fair, Kate isn't exactly an innocent bystander...

Still, we think they've done a pretty good job of finding some new favourites, and the even better news is that these gorgeous new arrivals are now online. So, in the interests of sharing their very important research, here's what caught their eye this week.

A little blue suede moment - Brando Patrice

There's something about a beautiful blue shoe that makes an outfit feel a little more interesting, and the Brando Patrice loafer is a perfect example.

The soft-looking blue suede, classic penny-loafer shape and relaxed styling make this one of those shoes you can imagine wearing with all sorts of things. We particularly love it with white trousers and a little blue in the outfit, as we've styled it here, but it would be equally lovely with denim, linen or a simple summer dress.

It's a classic loafer with a little more personality than you might expect, and that blue is just gorgeous.

A little gold never hurt anyone - Sempre Di A1071

If there's one thing we've learnt from watching Kate and Annette try on shoes, it's that a metallic is rarely a bad idea. The Sempre Di gold penny loafer has that familiar, easy-to-wear shape, but the metallic finish gives it something extra. We love the gathered detail around the toe and the way the gold catches the light without needing a heel or a particularly complicated outfit. This is the sort of shoe that could be worn with your favourite jeans and a white shirt, tailored trousers or even a colourful summer outfit. Gold works surprisingly well as a neutral, which is probably why we keep finding reasons to add another pair to the wardrobe.

And then there was the red... - Sempre Di A1527

Well, technically it's a fabulous orange-red, and we think it deserves a little attention. The Sempre Di A1527 slingback has a beautiful elongated pointed toe, a simple open back and a colour that does all the talking. It's elegant without feeling overly formal and makes even a fairly simple outfit look much more considered.

We've styled it with navy and white, which really lets that gorgeous colour shine, but imagine it with denim, cream or even an all-black outfit. Sometimes you don't need to change your entire wardrobe. You just need a really good pair of shoes.

Something a little different from Hispanitas

Hispanitas always seems to find a way to make a familiar shoe shape feel interesting, and the blue 4658 slingback is no exception.

Between the woven, mesh-like texture, the beautiful blue tones and that fabulous buckle detail, there's quite a lot to love here. The low heel and slingback shape give it an elegant finish, while the combination of textures makes it feel distinctly modern.

We particularly love how this style brings a little detail and personality to tailored trousers, but it would look just as lovely with a dress or a relaxed weekend outfit.

It's a great example of why Kate always has some Hispanitas in the collections for Sissa Sorella - there's always something interesting happening in the design.

The trouble with making content in a shoe shop...

We're not entirely convinced Kate and Annette have found the most efficient way to film new-season content, particularly when every second pair seems to become a potential personal purchase. But we do think there's something lovely about seeing the shoes being tried on, talked about and worn by real women who genuinely love them and care about how the products look and feel.

It's one of the things that makes shopping with Sissa Sorella a little different. We love showing you how shoes look on real feet, how they work with different outfits and all those little details that aren't always obvious in a standard product photograph.

And if the occasional content session turns into a shopping expedition, well, we suppose that's just one of the perks of the job.
