"Growing up, my mum was a beautiful role model whose love and guidance shaped who I am today," shares Vicki. Through her own experiences both in her career and as a devoted mother, Vicki's journey reflects warmth, resilience, and joy. From navigating the delicate balance of work and family to cherishing the small moments, Vicki's insights remind us of the power of love, laughter, and staying true to ourselves.

Can you tell us a bit about your family dynamic? How has this influenced your life and career?

I’m a proud mother of four adult children and have a loving husband. I am lucky to have all of my immediate family living in Canberra. With the support of my family, I was able to have an established career as a teacher and more recently pivot into Sissa Sorella to surround myself with beautiful things.

In what ways has being a mother influenced your approach to work and leadership?

I was fortunate to have a happy childhood and supportive family growing up. My mother was a beautiful role model, her overwhelming love and guidance has shaped the way I live my life. Her values have created the foundation for my own work life balance and my approach to understanding and working with others.

What aspirations or hopes do you have for future generations?

My parents encouraged extended education and a good work ethic to build a career with the ability to support myself. We have encouraged this with our own children, through love, support and guidance.

I hope future generations also have this opportunity and have the drive to follow their passions.

In what ways has Sissa Sorella supported you as a working mother?

Flexibility and time when visiting children, family or traveling, has allowed for balance.  It really helps having a supportive and like-minded team and being surrounded by beautiful things when I am at work.
