A Little Sissa Love for Our Exclusive Audley Shoes
There’s something pretty special about finding a shoe you love. But getting the opportunity to make it completely your own? That’s even better. This season, Kate worked with Spanish shoemaker Audley to create two very special colour combinations exclusively for Sissa Sorella.
The starting point was a beautiful T-bar silhouette - elegant, feminine and beautifully wearable, with a squared toe and low block heel. From there came the fun part: playing with colour, leather and texture to create two completely different versions of the same shoe.
The result is two pairs that feel unmistakably Audley, but with a little Sissa Sorella flavour, and you won’t find these colour combinations anywhere else.
Meet Audley
If you love shoes that are a little different without being difficult to wear, Audley is a brand worth trying. Designed and made in Spain, Audley comes from a long tradition of Spanish shoemaking love and expertise. The family’s history in footwear dates back to the 1940s, with the Audley brand itself established in 1988.
Over the years, Audley has become known for combining beautiful craftsmanship with a wonderfully individual approach to design. There are interesting shapes, unexpected combinations of colour and texture, beautiful leathers and details that give the shoes personality without overpowering the woman wearing them.
Which, as you can probably imagine, is exactly why we love them.
So, how do you design a Sissa Sorella shoe?
It starts with a great shape. For this collaboration, Kate chose a T-bar style with a flattering squared toe and low block heel - then it was time to make it Sissa. Working with Audley, Kate was able to select and combine different colours, textures and finishes to create two versions specifically for our collection.
If you’ve ever wondered what goes into choosing the shoes that eventually arrive on the Sissa Sorella shelves, this is a lovely little glimpse behind the scenes. Usually Kate is selecting from a brand’s collection; this time, she took that process one step further and had a hand in creating the finished shoe just for us at Sissa Sorella. And yes, there was a lot of looking at leather swatches involved.
The Green - Verde
The first combination brings together rich green tones, beautiful texture, metallic detailing and the tiniest flash of silver. There’s something slightly retro about the green T-bar, but the mix of finishes keeps it feeling modern. It has enough personality to become the interesting part of an outfit without making it tricky to wear.
We'd pair it with denim, crisp white, navy, chocolate, linen or a simple dress and let the shoe do its thing.
The Blue - Jeans
Denim-blue suede meets shimmering metallic blue with a pop of ivory, creating a completely different feel on exactly the same silhouette.
It’s fresh, feminine and incredibly easy to work into a wardrobe. The combination of blue tones means it can sit beautifully with denim while the metallic brings just enough shine to make it feel special.
Wear it with white or natural linen through Spring and Summer, pair it with jeans and a beautiful shirt, or use it to bring some colour to a simple neutral outfit.
Made in Spain. Made especially for Sissa.
There are plenty of beautiful shoes in the world, so when we're choosing what gets a place in a Sissa Sorella collection, we're always looking for something more than simply what's on trend. We want beautiful quality. We want shoes you'll genuinely wear. And we want those interesting little details that make someone stop and ask, “Where did you get those?”
These two Audley T-bars tick all three boxes. They've been designed and made in Spain by a shoemaker with generations of experience behind them, but the colour combinations were created especially for us.
That means when you wear one of these pairs, you're wearing something that started with Kate sitting down with Audley and asking: what could we do with this?
We think they turned out rather beautifully.
